Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS)
The Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) is an international centre of excellence in applied knowledge for urban development. Associated with the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, IHS operates specialised post graduate training, advisory services, international and institutional development projects, and applied research in urban development in developing and transitional countries.
IHS helps agencies, countries, cities and institutions to find suitable approaches for urban development and poverty reduction in cities, and to develop the capacity to implement them. Its network is extensive, including 30 full time staff, 25 associate fellows and more than 9,000 alumni in 80 countries working on urban development worldwide.
